Escondido Mold Removal exists because mold in this valley hides where nobody looks in July: behind the linen closet above a slab line, under the air handler platform in a 130-degree attic, and on the sheathing under a tile roof that let one January storm through. When you call, we put you on the phone with one independent local provider who handles mold removal and remediation in Escondido and the inland North County communities around it. The provider's meter sets the scope, and the provider's crew does the work. Any price, agreement, or warranty is between you and them.

Three kinds of Escondido house, three places the water hides

A 1920s bungalow in Old Escondido sits on a raised floor with a crawl space, so a bathroom drain leak shows up as a musty smell and a soft spot in the oak before it ever shows on a wall. A 1950s to 1970s ranch in Felicita or Mountain View sits on a slab with the original copper underneath, and a pinhole in a hot line warms the tile and wets the wall from the bottom up. A 1990s stucco two-story in Rancho San Pasqual or Hidden Meadows puts the air handler in the attic, where a clogged condensate line overflows the pan onto the drywall below during the hottest week of the year.

The first afternoon, room by room with a meter

The provider arrives with a moisture meter and usually a thermal camera, then works room by room marking how far the water went inside each wall or under each floor. Those marks, not the stain, decide what leaves the house. Plastic goes up and the air scrubber starts before any drywall is cut. One visit tells you what it needs.

California has no mold license, so check the contractor's license instead

California does not license mold assessors or remediators. The Toxic Mold Protection Act of 2001 asked the state health department to set exposure limits, and the department reported back that the science did not support a number. The California Department of Public Health now says visible mold or dampness is reason enough to fix the water and remove the growth, no lab result needed. What the state does license is the construction side: drywall, cabinets, and trim are contractor work under the Contractors State License Board, and the board's license check takes under a minute. Get a certificate of insurance and a written scope before the first wall is opened. Should a buyer or an insurer ask for test results, you hire an assessor for that on your own; the providers reached here do the removal only.

Rebuilding after removal often needs a permit, and inside city limits that runs through the City of Escondido's Building Division. Houses in Hidden Meadows, Valley Center, and the other unincorporated areas go through the county instead. Pulling the permit is the provider's job.
